Canyon Crosswinds Field Rules
In order to maintain a safe environment and to ensure compliance with our
liability coverage the AMA National Model Aircraft Safety Code will be followed
at all times. In addition to the AMA Safety Code the following general field
rules apply:
1. No alcoholic beverages are permitted at the flying site.
2. Unattended children or pets are not permitted at the field.
3. Only CCW Certified Pilots are permitted to fly at the field without the supervision of a CCW Authorized Flight Instructor. All club members must display their CCW Pilot ID when flying.
4. No one will turn on a non 2.4 GHz transmitter unless he/she has the appropriate frequency pin attached to the transmitter.
5. When flying off the main runway all pilots shall stand on one of the flying stations. A maximum of five aircraft at a time are permitted in the air from the main runway and all pilots must be in the same flight station area.
6. Pilots shall clearly announce their intent prior to entering or using the active runway and then again when clear of the runway.
7. Park Flyers must be flown either on the other side of the road in the plateau area or from the main runway pilot stations.
8. Helicopters must be flown either on the other side of the road in the plateau area or, if no other Pilots are flying or intend to fly, from the main runway pilot stations.
9. No flying under any circumstances is allowed over the pit areas, parking areas, or within 150 yards of the water treatment plant property. These are all no fly zones.
10. All glow, gas, or diesel engines shall have mufflers which reduce engine noise. Two-stroke powered aircraft are not permitted to fly before 7:30 am.
11. Engine break-in and extended engine runs shall be done in a location away from other people. The preferred location for engine break-in is the cement park table area. All engine starting and operations shall be done in such a way that the prop blast is directed away from other models and parked cars.
ANY VIOLATION OF THESE RULES, FLYING IN A MANNER DEEMED UNSAFE OR FLYING IN VIOLATION OF THE AMA SAFETY CODE IS ADEQUATE GROUNDS FOR IMMEDIATE CANCELLATION OF CCW CLUB MEMBERSHIP.
